“We don’t have enough words to express how delighted we are with our backyard bushland retreat, it’s simply stunning.

We can’t thank you enough for your design concept and the hard work in putting it all together. We are overwhelmed by your amazing talents.”

Rita & Peter Connell

A Little Background

With their backyard facing out into the estate park land, surrounded by century’s old River Red Gums, the local wild life was already buzzing around, Rita and Peter simply wanted to add to it.

They had already lined the fence border with beautiful flowering grevilleas for the local birds but they knew they could do more with the space.

After running through our specially designed questionnaire they had a much clearer feeling of the garden they wanted to create, now it was up to us to design it.

From a permeable wondering pathway, strategically placed brown granite rocks and a space for a water feature to go in, the rest was up the plant species to lift the area into the sanctuary and ecosystem it was intended for.

A selection of flowering Australian Native and Indigenous plants tied in with a few beloved deciduous trees, which add a secondary source of carbon for the compost barrel, everything settled in perfectly.

This project will always be one of our favourites as it was the first to be done in collaboration with the clients. Working side by side, wheel barrows of compost, soil, crushed rock, permeable toppings and mulch it was such a joy to share the thrill of creating a garden with your own hands with these two.
